Why a flatbed matters for a 4×4
- No wheels on the road – permanent four-wheel-drive, Haldex and Torsen systems should not be towed with two wheels down. We lift the whole vehicle.
- Automatics and air suspension – a Range Rover or Discovery with failed air suspension sits on its bump stops; we use the tilt bed and skates where needed.
- Loaded pickups – tools, a canopy or a load in the back are fine, as long as the total stays under 3.5 tonnes. Tell us roughly what’s in it.
- Stuck off-road – in mud, on a verge or in a field entrance: we winch it out first, then load it.
- Proper tie-down – four-point ratchet straps, so a heavy vehicle doesn’t move on the bed.
