This notice explains how Ozzy’s Breakdown Recovery uses personal information when you contact us, request a quote, share a pickup location or use our vehicle recovery service. It also describes the website technologies and external services associated with your enquiry.
Who is responsible for your information?
Ozzy’s Breakdown Recovery Ltd, company number 16951604, is responsible for the customer information it uses to quote for and carry out vehicle recovery services. Registered office: 37 Radstock Road, Reading, England, RG1 3PS. Contact contact@ozzysbreakdownrecovery.co.uk or call 07778 348703 with a privacy question or request.
Information used for enquiries and jobs
Depending on what you provide and the job, this may include your name, phone number, email, vehicle registration and type, fault or damage details, pickup and destination, preferred date and time, messages, job records and payment references. Relevant vehicle photographs may be needed to assess recovery requirements or record vehicle condition.
Provide only information needed for the job. Contact and pickup details are needed to arrange assistance. If essential details are missing, we may be unable to quote or carry out the job.
WhatsApp forms and location sharing
The standard Book recovery and Get a quote popups prepare an enquiry on your device. They open WhatsApp with the details for you to review and send. The website does not confirm the booking or charge you when you use these enquiry buttons. A separate fallback enquiry page can process submitted details on our website to prepare your message.
Share location requests your name and, only when you choose to use it, asks your browser for permission to obtain a single map pin. It is not live location tracking. You can enter a postcode, road or landmark instead. Location details included in your enquiry are used to help identify the pickup point.
When you choose to open WhatsApp or a map link, the relevant provider also processes information under its own terms and privacy notice. Do not send full card details or banking security codes in messages.
Why information is used
- Enquiries and service: to take steps at your request before a contract and to perform the agreed job.
- Records required by law: to meet applicable accounting, tax and other legal obligations.
- Legitimate interests: to maintain proportionate job records, answer concerns, protect the business and customers, and investigate misuse, with due regard to your rights.
- Consent: where required for optional website tracking or other optional uses, separately from acceptance of a job.
Who may receive information
Our recovery driver and authorised personnel use the information needed to carry out your job. Relevant information may also be handled by hosting and IT providers, messaging and payment providers, professional advisers, insurers or public authorities where necessary and lawful. Information shared for each purpose is limited to what is relevant to that purpose.
Private payment links lead to a payment provider, which handles the payment information entered on its own page. We use transaction status and references to reconcile payments. We do not ask you to enter card details into the public recovery enquiry form.
Website cookies and similar technologies
The website uses WordPress and hosting services to deliver pages. Administrative sign-in and security features can use necessary cookies. The website includes integrations for Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google advertising tags, Microsoft Clarity and ClickCease.
Google measurement and advertising services help measure website visits and enquiries; Google Tag Manager manages configured tags. Microsoft Clarity provides interaction analysis, including heatmaps and session recordings. ClickCease is used to help identify invalid advertising traffic. These services are separate from the information you send us to request a recovery.
You can use your browser’s privacy settings to inspect, block or delete cookies and other site storage. Blocking storage may affect some website features. This does not delete an enquiry or job record you have already sent to us; contact us about that information using the details above.
Further provider information is available in the Google privacy policy, Microsoft privacy statement and ClickCease privacy policy.
Optional measurement and advertising technologies can process device, browser, online identifier and page-interaction information. Microsoft Clarity can analyse interactions through heatmaps and session recordings. The enquiry forms include Clarity masking attributes; this is not a replacement for consent controls or a complete guarantee covering every third-party tag.
Providers outside the UK
External messaging, measurement, advertising and payment providers may process information outside the UK. Their processing locations and transfer arrangements depend on the service used. Google and Microsoft describe international transfers and the safeguards relevant to their services in the privacy notices linked above. WhatsApp also explains its international operations in its privacy policy.
Contact us for information about the providers involved in your enquiry or job and the transfer arrangements relevant to information we share with them.
How long information is kept
Our retention policy is to keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the enquiry or job, applicable legal and accounting duties, and proportionate handling of complaints or claims. The period depends on the purpose of the record, whether the enquiry or job is complete, applicable retention duties and any live dispute.
These criteria apply to messages, job records, vehicle photographs, accounting information, website logs and backup copies. Contact us to ask about a particular record or request deletion. A deletion request may be limited where information is still needed to meet a legal obligation or handle a claim.
Your privacy rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct, erase, restrict or receive a portable copy of your personal information. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, and you can object to direct marketing. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw consent; withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing.
Contact us using the details above. We may need to verify your identity. You may also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.

We update this notice when the way information is used changes. The date at the top identifies the latest version. For booking, payment and complaint information, see our Terms and Conditions of Service.
